First Lady Visits Hill Country Event

Ohio's Hill Country Heritage Area one day event entitledThe Greening of Ohio's Hill Country held in the Wayne Forest at Miller High School in June attracted a special visitor, Ohio's First Lady Frances Strickland.  After listening intently to the efforts of those involved in the Little Cities of the Forest project and viewing the documentaryA Forest Returns: The Success Story of Ohio's Only Natural Forest, atural Strickland adressed those gathered about heritage, environmental stewardship and geotourism principles in an effort to share the natural assets of the region in a low impact way with visitors and fellow citizens.

Learning Corner

Focusing on Authenticity

by Deanna & Ivan Tribe

We all struggle with interpreting our heritage.  Is it the "real McCoy" or is it fake?  How do you authenticate your claims to important heritage stories and sites?  Past President Deanna Tribe and her husband Ivan, professor of History at the University of Rio Grande provide an excellent deliberation on the topic of authenticity.
