Wednesday, March 29 Micro-Tourism in Appalachian Ohio: Managing and Marketing Your Tourist-based Business Zane State College, the Morgan County Chamber of Commerce and Athens-based ACEnet have teamed up with Philo-based Blue Rock Station to present two workshops designed to aid small tourist-based businesses grow and prosper. The first of the two workshops entitled , is scheduled for March 29th - 9:30 am to 3:30 pm at the Riecker Building on 155 East Main Street, McConnelsville, Ohio (25 minutes south of Zanesville, Ohio at I-70), with the second workshop to be held in Zanesville in the Fall. The early registration is $35 and must be received by March 20. Registration after that date is $49. Lunch is included in the cost of registration. At the end of the workshop a prize drawing will be held featuring items useful to small businesses. Annie and Jay Warmke of Blue Rock Station, in conjunction with the partnering groups, will teach this all-day workshop specifically focused on the challenges faced in the management and marketing of small, tourism-based business. Participants will have the opportunity to create a simple no-hassle, no cost marketing plan . The class is for people either thinking about starting a tourism-related business those that already have a small business, or those selling items during the tourist season (summers or hunting season).
