Emmitt House Restaurant (Pike County)

Inn at Cedar Falls (Hocking County)

A historic log cabin forms the inviting kitchen and dining room for the Inn at Cedar Falls. Overnight accommodations are available in a newly constructed building (designed to look like a barn and fit into the rural landscape) or in individual cottages and log cabins. Fans of micro-brews will want to visit the Marietta Brewing Company. It is located in a historic building along Front Street in downtown Marietta. Murphin Ridge Inn and Restaurant (Adams County)

Tucked away on 142 acres is a quiet country retreat ideal for a romantic getaway or a family weekend. The original 1826 home serves as the “Dining House” where breakfast and candlelit dinners are served daily in either the warm and cozy house or on the patio in warm weather. This restored canal-era town is an ideal setting for an overnight stay. Signal House B&B (Brown County)

Located in a Greek Revival House on the Ohio River, this house derived its name from its role in the Underground Railroad. A lantern in the skylight in the attic signaled the Rev. John Rankin (who had a house on the hill above Ripley) that the waterfront was safe to transport slaves to freedom. When staying here you can easily walk to Ripley’s historic downtown and its many museums, or if you prefer, relax on one of the three porches and watch the river traffic float by. Spread Eagle Tavern and Inn (Columbiana County)

This historic three-story brick 1837 Federal style inn has been lovingly restored to retain its significant architectural character and to provide modern amenities for guests. The Inn features a fine restaurant, a cozy rathskeller, seven dining rooms and five rooms for overnight guests. The Inn is located in a National Register Historic District with many of the buildings dating from the 1820s canal era.

Stockport Mill Country Inn and Restaurant (Morgan County)

Located on the banks of the Muskingum River in the small community of Stockport, this restaurant and inn is an excellent example of an adaptive use of a historic building. The Stockport Mill was constructed in 1906 and continued in use until 1997. Now, the inn features distinctive overnight accommodations, as well as a restaurant with river views.

The Inn at Cowger House #9 (Tuscarawas County)

The historic village of Zoar is the location of this B&B, which offers 10 rooms in three buildings – an 1817 log cabin, an 1833 main house and an Amish oak cottage. The Ohio Historical Society operates museum buildings in the village and offers a wide variety of programs from spring – fall. Candlelight dinners, as well as breakfast are offered.
